Thoughts on the Presidential Debate:
Romney was pretty aggressive, insisting on the last word on many of the topics. He was also not completely truthful in some of his answers. He was very vague in much of his answers.
President Obama seemed a little ticked off at times. He was a bit restrained, but stood his ground. He was more specific in his answers, but still vague regarding policies. He missed a few opportunities to be more assertive.
Both candidates represented their party’s values well. Romney for limited government involvement in anything and Obama expressing the necessity of government involvement in many issues of the state.
Much of the debate was pretty dense and they talked numbers a lot. The candidates contradicted each other a lot so it was difficult to know who was telling the truth. The debate seemed very sloppy and disorganized. I didn’t particularly like some of the questions, they were very broad, which allowed for the candidates to basically talk about what they wanted on the topic rather than specifics. There didn’t seem to be a great variety of issues. It was mainly, taxes, economy, healthcare, and a little bit of education. Not much on foreign policy, immigration, or social issues.
